Map Toolbar Help
 Zoom-In
To magnify an area, select the zoom-in icon, move the cursor to a corner of the area you want to magnify. Click and hold down the left mouse button and drag a box around the area to be zoomed to. When you are satisfied with the location of the box, release the left mouse button.
 Zoom-Out
To zoom-out, select the zoom-out icon, move the cursor over the point of interest, and click once with the left mouse button. You may also use this tool to click and drag a box to zoom-out to an area twice the size of your box.
Go Back to Previous Extent
Go back to the previous map view.
 Whole View Extent
Zooms-out to the entire viewing area.
 Pan
Moves the map view in any direction. To pan, select the pan icon, then single click or click and drag on the map with the left mouse button. Release the mouse button to redraw the map at the new position.
North Arrow
Centers the map NORTH of your current location.
East Arrow
Centers the map EAST of your current location.
South Arrow
Centers the map SOUTH of your current location.
West Arrow
Centers the map WEST of your current location.
Identify Features
Gets database information for features on the map. To get feature information, select the Identify icon and then click on a map feature.
Measure Distance and Area
Measures distances and areas on the map. Select the Measure icon to measure the length or area of map features.
Select By Rectangle
Activates the 'Select By Rectangle Tool' so you may select parcels of interest by drawing a box around them.
Select By Polygon
Activates the 'Select By Polygon Tool' so you may select parcels of interest by clicking to define a shape surrounding them.
Select By Line
Activates the 'Select By Polygon Line' so you may select parcels of interest by drawing a line that touches them.
 Print
Prints a map with optional legend, location map, or feature database information. Select the Print icon and then enter a title, size, and scale for your hardcopy map. If you are using a pop-up blocker, you may need to disable it.
Data Frame Toolbar
Search
Lists the parcel search options available. Click the Search tab, select different search options and then enter a search string.
 Layers
Shows the map layers available for display. Click the Layers tab to display the menu list. The menu allows you to turn information displayed on the map on or off. Select on the check boxes next to the layer names - a check indicates the layer will be displayed. When finished selecting the layers to be drawn, click the Refresh map button to see the results.
Legend
Displays a legend for the map. Click the Legend tab to display the legend.
